Multan is well known for its shrines hence the name “City of Saints” is another name given to this city. Some of the shrines date back to medieval Islamic India. The people of Multan earn their livelihood by growing fruits mostly citrus and mangoes. The geological location of this city makes it ideal for agricultural activities. The main tourist attractions in Multan are Mazars/Shrines. Most prominent ones are Shah Yousaf Gardez, Bahauddin Zakria, Bibi Pak Daman, Shah Shams, and Shah Rukn-e-Alam.
The city is also responsible for contributing to the national economy as there many textiles, plastic, fertilizers and rubber industries. The visitors and travelers have a variety of options to choose from. They can either travel via road, airplane, train, and buses.
